Jackpot! It’s Wager 2.0

The USPS is delivering the final Handsome Wager 1.0 coffee to our beloved #FirstForty’s doorsteps. A couple details:

  1. Depending on what they picked, they will receive:

    —“Mbeya Mwalyego”

    Tanzania (Date Stamped 7/13/11 — Roast #5)

    Quote from Chris Owens, Roaster:

“I’ve roasted this coffee about 5 different ways, and this one is a winner. I wanted to showcase the Mbeya’s lovely syrupy mid-tone sweetness.”

    *OR*

—Espresso 1 lb.  (Date Stamped 7/13/11)

    Quote From Chris:

“It’s a 50/50 mix of the Mwalyego and Siberia Estate, from El Salvador.  Siberia is a former COE winner, and this coffee certainly shows their pedigree.  Combined these coffees form a liquid jam that I love from espresso.”

      2. The super secret special gifts are being printed in Austin, Texas and will be sent out promptly. GET UP FOR IT.

    A NEW HOPE

But with every end, comes a new beginning. And such is the Wager. We loved this. We loved every second of it. So we took a poll and decided to let it ride for Handsome Wager 2.0.

Basically, it’s the same deal. A guaranteed 4 coffee shipments. The #FirstForty remain intact. And each were empowered to invite 2 friends along for the second trip. We were humbled by the flood of requests and we’re all full up. We understand lotsa dealings were done to earn those invites. Either way, it’s great to have the newbies on board, ushered here by the folks who helped start our company…because it’s about coffee-founded relationships, folks. *hugs*

You can follow the fun @HandsomeForty, a new Twitter stream that will keep y’all up to date on the Wager coffees, roast notes, shipping details and allow for Team Wager to offer as much feedback to us as they dreamed possible. (And make sure to follow on @HandsomeRoaster or @HandsomeForty if you want in for future Wagers…they tend to be announced randomly and abruptly, for some reason. Certainly not because we come up with ideas and just do them randomly and abruptly. Certainly not.)

First shipments are going out this Thursday. Many more to come. Thanks a ton. Much more in the works. If you’re in LA for the weekend, stop by and see us at our first public service at the Eat Real Festival in Culver City near the Helms Bakery. Booth 4 for life!

Many thanks for the great support in our early days. Jeez-o-petes…thanks.
